Munson Leads Greyhounds on 2nd Day of ECAC Championships

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. --- The Moravian College men's track & field squad completed its trip to the 2015 ECAC Division III Outdoor Championships hosted by Springfield (Mass.) College on Friday.

The Greyhounds tied for 32nd of 57 teams scoring in the meet with 10 points, which all came on Thursday's opening day. SUNY Brockport won the ECAC title with 72 points.

Senior Parker Munson competed in a pair of events on the final day of his career, placing 11th in the discus with a toss of 44.21 meters (145-0) to give Munson six of the top 10 throws in the event in the Moravian record books and finishing 24th in the shot put with a toss of 13.88 meters (45-6.5).

Senior Gavin Bailey took 11th in the long jump with a mark of 6.81 meters (22-4.25), and his season-best leap of 7.19 meters is currently 20th in the nation on the Track & Field Results Reporting System list, sitting at the final spot to qualify for next week's NCAA Division III National Championships with the top 22 females and top 20 males in each individual event set to compete. The national field will be announced on Sunday morning.

Sophomore Kahron Walker also placed 11th in the high jump at a height of 1.98 meters (6-6) while sophomore Cory Taggert ran a time of 1:59.79 in the 800-meter run for the Greyhounds.
