Gardener, Barr, Dwyer & Taggert Combine for 2 School Records at Penn Relays

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. --- The Moravian College track & field teams competed in the second day of the Penn Relays at historic Franklin Field Friday with the men's squad setting a pair of school records.

The first record of the day was set in the 4x200-meter relay by the quartet of seniors John Barr and Tyler Dwyer and juniors Austin Gardener and Cory Taggert as they posted a time of 1:31.31 in the race. The quartet would finish the day with a second school record in the Sprint Medley Championship of America after a time of 3:36.76 to place 20th. The sprint medley had Gardener and Barr each run 200 meters, Dwyer run 400 meters and Taggert finish with an 800-meter run.

Moravian's quartet of junior Jamil Poole, sophomore Eric Morton and freshmen Chris Antoine and Baru Roberson posted a time of 45.30 in the 4x100-meter relay while sophomores Esco Blaylock and Andrew Mitchell and freshman Na'im Pretlow and John Spirk combined for a time of 3:33.91 in the 4x400 Pop Haddleton MAC race.

Graduate student Parker Munson had a mark of 14.93 meters (48-11.75) in the College Men's Shot Put while freshman Denzel Pettway had a distance of 13.98 meters (45-10.5) in the event.

The Greyhounds are scheduled to be back in action on Saturday, April 30 in the Lehigh University Games.
