Hounds Compete on Opening Day of ECAC DIII Outdoor Meet at Westfield State

WESTFIELD, Mass. --- The Moravian College men's and women's track & field teams competed in the opening day of competition Wednesday at the 2016 ECAC Division III Outdoor Championships being hosted by Westfield State University.

The Greyhounds did not score a point on the opening day of competition, and the squad was led by sophomore Kyle Allison, who finished 11th in the javelin with a toss of 53.15 meters (174-4). Junior Michael Guarino was 18th in the event with a mark of 50.64 meters (166-2) while sophomore Robert Condo took 21st at 47.99 meters (157-5).

On the track, junior Austin Gardener was 20th in the 100-meter dash preliminaries in 11.00 seconds while sophomore Eric Morton took 29th in a time of 11.28 seconds. Freshman John Spirk was 25th in the 110-meter high hurdle preliminaries in 15.69 seconds.

The second and final day of action at the 2016 ECAC Division III Outdoor Championships is slated to begin at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 19 at Westfield State University.
