TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian College senior Greg Cahill has been named the Landmark Conference Men's Field Athlete of the Week for his performance last week.

Cahill led the Greyhounds in the field events at the non-scoring Lehigh University Opener to begin the 2016-17 indoor season. He had a fifth place finish in the shot put with an ECAC qualifying toss of 14.45 meters (47-5), and Cahill also placed fourth in the 35-pound weight throw with a toss of 13.85 meters (45-2.25).

"This was a good start to his season for Greg," stated Head Coach Jesse Baumann. "It's not where he or the coaching staff ultimately want to be, but we've only been training a few weeks so far, and his shot put mark from Friday was already ahead of where he started this time last year. Coach Jon D'Ottavio and I were talking about a few things to adjust in the coming weeks, but we're both confident this will be a big senior year for Greg, as evidenced by a solid start to the year."

Moravian is scheduled to return to action on Saturday, December 10 as the squad returns to Rauch Fieldhouse for the Lehigh University Fast Times Before Finals meet beginning at 10:00 a.m.
