Moravian Posts Nine Top 10 Finishes at Ithaca Bomber Invitational

ITHACA, N.Y. --- The Moravian College men's indoor track & field squad competed at the non-scoring Ithaca College Bomber Invitational Saturday as the Greyhounds continue to prepare for the 2017 Landmark Conference Championships later this month.

Sophomore John Spirk paced the Hounds with a sixth place finish in the 60-meter hurdles in an ECAC qualifying time of 8.47 seconds after a preliminary time of 8.53 seconds. Spirk also ran the leadoff leg of Moravian's 4x400-meter relay team that included senior Cory Taggert and juniors Mike Kopach and Andrew Mitchell that placed sixth in 3:28.97, the fifth fastest time in school history. Taggert also finished sixth in the 400-meter dash in 51.26 seconds while Mitchell was eighth in the 800-meter run in 1:59.24.

In other track results, freshman Billy DiLolle was ninth in the 60-meter dash preliminaries in 7.24 seconds while freshman Greg Jaindl was tenth in the 3,000-meter run in 9:15.38. The Greyhounds 4x200-meter relay squad of senior Jamil Poole, sophomores Baru Roberson and Chris Antoine and freshman Coulter Lewis placed eighth in the 1:36.61.

Senior Kyle Hagerty finished ninth in the long jump with a leap of 6.51 meters (21-4.25) while senior Greg Cahill took tenth in the 35-pound weight throw with a toss of 14.08 meters (46-2.5).

Moravian is scheduled to compete in a pair of meets on Saturday, February 11 with part of the squad attending the Haverford College Seamus McElligott Invitational and the remainder of the team heading to the St. Joseph's College Winter Invitational.
