Walker Selected as Landmark Conference Men's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week

TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian College senior Kahron Walker has been selected as the Landmark Conference Men's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week for his performance last weekend.

Walker recorded a first place finish for the Greyhounds in the high jump at the St. Joseph's College (N.Y.) Winter Indoor Invitational as he cleared an ECAC qualifying height of 1.95 meters (6-4.75). Walker's jump scored 10 points for the Greyhounds, who were ninth of 20 teams scoring points with 11 points.

"Kahron has been working hard to come back from an injury that's plagued him for the better part of the past year, and he's been slowly getting back to his old self," noted Head Coach Jesse Baumann. "We saw it with a great long jump at Lehigh a few weeks ago, and he's starting to gain some consistency in his high jump. There was an awkward drop in height in the middle of the high jump approach on Saturday but he overcame that and still managed to win the meet and post his best high jump in nearly a year. He's starting to peak at the right time."

The Greyhounds are scheduled to have their final tune-up for the 2017 Landmark Conference Championships on Saturday, February 18 when the squad heads to the Kutztown University 6-Team Qualifier.
