Taggert Sets School Mark in 500 as Hounds Tie for 11th at ECAC Championships

ITHACA, N.Y. --- The Moravian College men's indoor track & field team tied for 11th of 43 teams scoring points at the 2017 ECAC Division III Indoor Championships after the second and final day of competition at Ithaca College Saturday.

The Greyhounds finished with 23 points including 15 on Saturday. Senior Cory Taggert scored 10 of those points when he won the 500-meter run in a school record time of 1:05.49. Sophomore John Spirk scored two points for a seventh place finish in the 60-meter hurdle finals in 8.49 seconds while sophomore Scott Goodwin scored the final three points with a sixth place in the pole vault at a height of 4.57 meters (15-0).

Senior Greg Cahill made the finals in the 35-pound weight throw and finished in ninth place with a toss of 14.75 meters (48-4.75) as the final men's performer.

Moravian has completed its 2016-17 indoor season and will start the outdoor season on Friday and Saturday, March 24-25 at the Lafayette College 7-Way Meet.
