Morton & Spirk Run PRs at Georgian Court Last Chance Meet

LAKEWOOD, N.J. --- The Moravian College men's track & field team sent a small group of competitors to the Georgian Court University Last Chance Meet Friday.

Junior Eric Morton led the Greyhounds as he won the 100-meter dash in an ECAC qualifying time and PR of 10.93 seconds, breaking the 11-second barrier for the second time in his career.

Sophomore John Spirk was the runner-up in the 110-meter high hurdles in an ECAC qualifying time and PR of 14.77 seconds. The time moves Spirk into a tie for 28th on the Track & Field Results Reporting System list with the top 20 males in each event making the NCAA Division III National Championships in two weeks at the University of Mount Union. Spirk has one week left and two last chances meets to improve his time.

Sophomore Hunter Gibson placed sixth in the hammer throw with a toss of 40.00 meters (131-3) while sophomore Jon Anthony finished eighth in the discus with a distance of 37.11 meters (121-9).

Moravian is scheduled to return to action on Monday, May 15 in the Swarthmore College Last Chance Qualifier beginning at 4:00 p.m.
