Hounds Compete in Lehigh University Covert Classic

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College men's indoor track & field squad participated in the Lehigh University Covert Classic on Saturday at Rauch Fieldhouse in south Bethlehem.

In the field events for men, junior Scott Goodwin placed fifth in the pole vault with a height of 4.25 meters (3-11.25). On the track, junior Devon Harris placed second in the mile run with a time of 4:23.63 followed by sophomore Greg Jaindl coming in sixth place with a time of 4:28.80. In the 400-meter run, freshman Zion Howard took seventh place in a time of 52.17 seconds and in eighth place was junior John Spirk with a time of 52.59 seconds. Senior Andrew Mitchell earned second place in the 800-meter run in a time of 1:58.42 seconds. To close out the men's competition in the 4x800-meter relay, the Greyhounds "A" relay team which consisted of JaindlMitchell, junior Aaron Hofmann and freshman Peter Gingrich took third place with a time of 8:23.42 while the "B" relay team of sophomore Justin Beasley-Turner, sophomore Devon Fogel, senior Mike Kopach and Harris placed fifth with a time of 8.29.64.

The Greyhounds are scheduled to return to action on Saturday, February 3 with a pair of meets as the team will split between the 19th Annual DeSchriver Invitational at East Stroudsburg University and the Susquehanna University Challenge.
