Moravian Men Post 11 Top 10 Finishes at Lehigh University Games

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College men's track & field team competed in the Lehigh University Games Saturday in the Hounds' final meet before the 2018 Landmark Conference Championships.

The Blue and Grey were led by freshman Zion Howard, who won the 200-meter dash in 22.25 seconds. Howard also ran the leadoff leg of Moravian's 4x100-meter relay team that finished second in 43.28 seconds, and he was joined by juniors Chris Antoine and Brian Stock and sophomore Evan Lutz. Stock also placed eighth in the 200-meter dash in 23.47 seconds while freshman Sean McFarland was ninth in 23.62 seconds.

Junior John Spirk was the runner-up in the 110-meter high hurdles in 15.19 seconds while junior Woodrow Battle was seventh in the race in 16.88 seconds, and he also placed seventh in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:00.77. Senior Andrew Mitchell was fourth in the 800-meter run in a time of 1:54.49.

Junior Scott Goodwin led the field entries with a fifth place finish in the pole vault at a height of 4.40 meters (14-5.25) while sophomore Ryan Harper finished ninth in the shot put with a toss of 13.01 meters (42-8.25). Junior Tyler Bergsma was tenth in the hammer throw on Friday with a mark of 45.58 meters (149-6).

The Greyhounds will look to defend their Landmark Conference Championships at the 2018 meet being hosted by Elizabethtown College on Saturday and Sunday, May 5-6. The men have won nine of 10 championships including the last three in a row.
