Robert Condo '18 honored as Landmark Conference Men's Field Athlete of the Week.

TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian College senior Robert Condo has been honored as the Landmark Conference Men's Field Athlete of the Week for his performance last week.

Condo, who earned his third Landmark Conference Athlete of the Week honor of the spring, finished 11th in the College Men's Javelin Throw at the prestigious Penn Relays Saturday. Condo had a toss of 58.69 meters (192-6) on his second throw of the preliminaries as he took 11th of 26 throwers in the flight and was second of three NCAA Division III throwers. Condo finished ahead of 13 NCAA Division I student-athletes.

"Rob continues to have a solid senior season," said Head Coach Jesse Baumann. "He competed well at Penn, had a consistent series and nearly made finals in one of the premier meets in the country. This is great experience for him leading into NCAAs in a month. He was throwing against top athletes from schools like Auburn, Clemson, and Wake Forest. By the time he's in Wisconsin in May, he'll be used to seeing the same level of competition and will be ready to throw far against top athletes."

Moravian is set to defend its Landmark Conference title this weekend at the 2018 Championship meet being hosted by Elizabethtown College on Saturday and Sunday, May 5-6.
