LA CROSSE, Wisc. --- The Moravian College men's track & field team had senior Robert Condo compete on the second day of action Friday at the 2018 NCAA Division III Outdoor National Championships being hosted by The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.

Condo was part of the field in the men's javelin to begin the day. Condo, competing at the NCAA meet for the second straight year, had an opening throw of 54.98 meters. He then recorded distances of 55.62 meters and 57.37 meters (188-3) to finish his preliminary flight in sixth place. Condo ended up 16th of the 20 competitors in the meet.

"As our Javelin Coach Bob Luciano said, Rob had a good day, just not a great day, which it turns out he would have needed in order to make finals against a field that took off with some historic throws," stated Head Coach Jesse Baumann. "He's been a consistent, top-level javelin thrower, made two NCAA meets in a challenging event and should be commended for an extraordinary career here at Moravian."

Moravian has freshman Zion Howard set to compete in the 200-meter dash final on Saturday, May 26 at 3:40 p.m. EDT. Howard won his preliminary heat on Thursday in 21.79 seconds, the second-fastest qualifying time.
