
STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. --- The Moravian College men's indoor track & field squad posted 12 personal best performances and a school record during the non-scoring Fastrack National Invitational at the Ocean Breeze Park & Athletic Complex in Staten Island, New York Friday.
Senior Greg Jaindl broke the school record in the mile to lead the men as he finished as the runner-up in the Invite mile with a time of 4:16.70. Junior Peter Gingrich posted a PR in the Invite 800-meter run as he placed 11th in 1:56.96.
The Hounds had three PRs in the College 200-meter dash with sophomore Taylor Porter McPherson running a time of 23.25 seconds, senior Evan Lutz clocking in at 23.61 seconds and senior Nicholas Cephas finishing in 24.20 seconds. Moravian added three more PRs in the College 400-meter dash with junior Sean McFarland taking 12th in 51.22 seconds, and Porter McPherson running a PR of 51.49 seconds and Lutz posting a career-best 51.80 seconds.
The Greyhounds' 4x400-meter relay squad of Jaindl, Gingrich, McFarland and Porter McPherson posted a ninth-place time of 3:28.76, the sixth fastest time in school history.
Cephas was the runner-up in the College 60-meter hurdles in a PR of 8.87 seconds while freshman Ethan Cherubin was 11th in the race in 9.64 seconds. Sophomore Brad Clemson posted a PR time of 2:02.05 in the College 800-meter run. Freshman Darlyn Fermin was eighth in the 3,000-meter run with a PR time of 8:50.02 while sophomore Shane Houghton was 14th in the race with a PR of 8:54.05.
Junior Shane Mastro placed 13th in the College shot put with a toss of 13.84 meters (45-5).
The Greyhounds are scheduled to have their final tune-up before the 2020 Landmark Conference Championships on Friday, February 21 when the squad heads to the Kutztown University Last Chance Meet.
