Hounds in 7th After Opening Day of AARTF Indoor Championships

ROCHESTER, N.Y. --- The Moravian University men's indoor track & field team is in seventh place of 26 schools that scored points on the opening day of the 2022 All-Atlantic Region Indoor Track & Field Championships Friday in the meet being hosted by Nazareth (N.Y.) College as the Greyhounds scored 12 points with a pair of third place finishes.

Top 8 Scoring Finishes

  • Moravian scored its first six points in the 4,000-meter distance medley relay where the quartet of graduate student Peter Gingrich and seniors Dominic DeRafelo, Brad Clemson and Shane Houghton finished third in a time of 10:21.27, the second fastest time in program history
  • Graduate student Shane Mastro placed third in the shot put with a toss of 15.06 meters (49-5) on his final throw of the finals. Mastro was seventh entering the final three throws, and he moved up to fourth place on his fourth overall throw before jumping up another spot on the final toss
