COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. --- The Moravian University men's track & field team placed fifth of 23 teams at the Frank Colden Invitational hosted by Ursinus College on Saturday as the Greyhounds scored 42 points and captured a pair of event titles.
Event Winners
- Senior Shane Houghton captured the 3,000-meter run in a winning and All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Conference qualifying time of 8:40.74 to earn 10 points
- The Hounds' 4x200-meter relay squad of juniors Matt Shea and Jared Santos and sophomores Owen Sabastro and Trevor Gray took first in a time of 1:33.35 to garner 10 points
Top 8 Scoring Finishes
- Moravian's "B" 4x200-meter relay team of senior Ethan Cherubin, sophomore Jason Gartner and freshmen Jacob Fenstermaker and Tom Post finished seventh in the race in 1:38.39 to pick up two points
- The Greyhounds' "B" 4x400-meter relay squad of senior Elias Aviles, junior Brendon Ward and sophomores Geoffrey Kleinberg and Wyatt Poniktera took third in a time of 3:40.44 to garner six points
- Sophomore Nathan Hajel earned five points with a fourth place in the 3,000-meter run in a time of 8:56.32
- Santos took fourth in the 60-meter dash finals in 7.22 seconds for five points
- Freshman Josh Swain earned a sixth-place finish in the 60-meter hurdle finals in a time of 9.18 seconds to garner three points
- Junior Casey Frank placed eighth in the mile run in a time of 4:34.44 to earn one point
Top 10 Finishes
- Sabastro was ninth in the 60-meter dash preliminaries in 7.32 seconds
- Moravian's "A" 4x400-meter relay quartet of Swain, Gartner, Fenstermaker and freshman Liam Maguire finished tenth in 3:49.73
