BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University men's track & field team captured a pair of event titles in the John and Carol Covert Classic hosted by Lehigh University at the Goodman Campus on Friday and Saturday.
Event Winners
- Sophomore Trevor Gray took first in the 200-meter dash in a time of 22.44 seconds
- The Greyhounds' 4x100-meter relay team of Gray, junior Jared Santos, sophomore Owen Sabastro and freshman Jacob Fenstermaker won the race in an All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Conference qualifying time of 42.20 seconds
Top 10 Finishers
- Sophomore Jason Gartner was fifth in the 400-meter hurdles in 59.44 seconds while freshman Liam Maguire took sixth in 59.90 and freshman Josh Swain finished ninth in 1:02.25
- Senior Shane Houghton placed sixth in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:07.49 while freshman Bryan Kerchner was tenth in the race in 4:08.46
- Fenstermaker finished sixth in the 100-meter dash in a time of 11.27 seconds while Santos took eighth in 11.34 seconds
- Junior Matt Shea was tenth in the 200-meter dash in 23.31 seconds, and he also placed tenth in the 400-meter dash in 52.21 seconds
- Swain finished tenth in the 110-meter high hurdles in 16.75 seconds
- The Hounds 4x400-meter relay squad of juniors Paul Petre and Brendon Ward and sophomore Geoffrey Kleinberg and freshman Kevin Hess placed fifth in a time of 3:36.72
- Sophomore Trey Rolle was seventh in the high jump at 1.87 meters (6-1.5)
AARTFC Qualifiers
- Senior Adam Gildea was 12th in the discus with an AARTFC qualifying distance of 42.29 meters (138-9)
