Farrell Named Co-Corvias ECAC DIII South Runner of the Week

DANBURY, Conn. --- Senior Dillon Farrell of the Moravian College men's cross country team has been named as the Co-Corvias ECAC Division III South Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week for his performance last weekend.

Farrell, who earned Landmark Conference Athkete of the Week honors on Monday for the second time this fall, paced the Hounds at the Dickinson College Long/Short Invitational on Saturday. Running on the short course of 4,000 meters, Farrell placed fourth of 264 runners in the competition in a time of 12:01.25. He was the top NCAA Division III runner in the race following three Division II runners.

"Dillon's time was 13 seconds faster than he ran last year, and we ran this meet a week earlier than we did in 2013 which are both encouraging signs that he's well ahead of where he was 12 months ago," stated Head Coach Jesse Baumann. "We were glad to see that he was the top Division III finisher in the field. Dillon finished within eight seconds of the winner who has finished 6th at the ACCs in cross country and won the Division II NCAA mile last March, so he was running close to some very distinguished company," Baumann finished.

Moravian is slated to get back to action on Saturday, October 4 in the 42nd Annual Brooks Paul Short Run at Lehigh University.
