Farrell & Duncan Earn All-Region Honors

Bethlehem, Pa. --- The Moravian College men's cross country team competed at the 2014 NCAA Division III Mid East Regionals Saturday, November 15 at Big Springs HS Course hosted by Dickinson College with seniors Dillon Farrell and Alec Duncan earning All-Mideast Region honors.

The men's team finished in 20th overall with senior Farrell claiming seventh place with a time of 25:14.6, the fifth best time in Moravian College history on an 8,000-meter course, and earn All-Mideast Region honors for the fourth time after being Freshman All-Region in 2010 and in the Top 35 the last three seasons.

"Dillon had the race we were looking for," commented Head Cross Country Coach Jesse Baumann. "We were looking to get him to Nationals healthy, safe and sound and he did just that."

Duncan earned Mideast All-Region for the first time in his career with his 29th place finish in a career best time of 25:50.6 putting him in 13th in the school record books.

"We were really happy with Alec too, our main goal for him was to make All-Region," explained Baumann. "We gave him some other runners to key off of and to himself in the keep himself in the top 30 of the whole race which he did to a T. He had one of the best races he has ever had here another personal best on one of the toughest course we run on and an incredible finish for him."

Junior Jeremy Rigotti finished in 27:29.8 while sophomore Cory Taggert had a time of in 28:16.1 for the Greyhounds. Freshmen Austin Stetler, Robert Cahill and Josh Toth rounded out the squad with times of 28:45.3, 29:07.9 and 29:10.4.

Farrell will travel to Mason, Ohio on Saturday, November 22 to compete in the 2014 NCAA Division III Championships hosted by Wilmington College. It will be his third straight trip to the NCAA Championship meet.
