Moravian Men Win Group at Lehigh Invitational to Begin 2017 Season

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College men's cross country team finished first of the non-NCAA Division I schools at the annual Lehigh University Invitational Friday evening to begin the 2017 season.

The Greyhounds led three non-NCAA Division I schools with 38 points, finishing three points ahead of NCAA Division II West Chester University of Pennsylvania and 11 points in front of Muhlenberg College.

Sophomore Gregory Jaindl paced Moravian with a time of 19:10.75 on the 6,000-meter course to place third of 32 runners while junior Devon Harris was fourth in 19:19.24. Sophomore Gavin Kemery took eighth place for the Greyhounds with a time of 19:57.51 while sophomore Justin Beasley-Turner was tenth overall in 20:05.46.

Junior Benjamin Smith rounded out Moravian's top five in 13th place in 20:13.48 while freshman Franklin Musnuff was two seconds back in 14th. Freshman Peter Gingrich ran a time of 20:33.16 in his first collegiate race while junior Peter Milewski finished in 20:39.58 and freshman Jarred Kyra clocked in at 20:55.03. The Greyhounds had four other runners in the race with junior Aaron Hofmann posting a time of 21:53.83, freshman Billy Milburn finishing in 22:07.77, junior Alex Tursi recording a 22:12.32 and senior Josh Toth finishing in 22:49.66.

Moravian is scheduled to return to action on Saturday, September 9 when the squad heads to the Juniata College Invitational in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania, the site of this year's Landmark Conference Championship race in October with the men's race scheduled for 10:45 a.m.
