Jaindl Named Landmark Conference Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Week

Greg Jaindl '20 named Landmark Conference Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Week.

TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian College sophomore Gregory Jaindl has been named the Landmark Conference Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Week for his performance last week.

Jaindl, who earns his second Landmark Conference honor of the season, helped the Greyhounds finish seventh of 37 schools in the White 8K race of the Paul Short Run hosted by Lehigh University last Friday. Jaindl placed 11th of 283 competitors in the event with a career-best time of 26:13 on the 8,000-meter course.

"We tried to set up this week for a good performance and Greg stepped up," noted Director of Cross Country and Track & Field Jesse Baumann. "He and Devon (Harris) have looked incredible in practices and he was smart and patient in executing the race strategy on Friday. It was getting a little warm by race time so I think he's still got the ability to go even quicker in a few weeks at Rowan, but it was a nice 30 plus second PR and great performance by him."

Moravian is scheduled to return to action on Saturday, October 14 at the Inter-Regional Rumble hosted Rowan (N.J.) University with the men's race slated for 11:45 a.m.
