Softball Cracks Into Top 10 in Latest NFCA Division III Top 25 Poll

Moravian softball ranked No. 10 in the latest National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division III Top 25.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. --- The Moravian College softball squad has moved up another three spots to crack into the Top 10 at 10th in the latest 2018 National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division III Top 25 Poll.

Moravian, which is 17-3 on the season after winning 15 consecutive contests, has been ranked in all but one week of the poll this season including 13th last week. The Hounds were 17th the prior week after being tied for 16th three weeks ago and 22nd a month ago. The Blue and Grey were ranked 18th in the preseason poll and 17th in the first regular season poll on February 28 before falling into the receiving votes category after a 3-3 mark in the 2018 NFCA Division III Leadoff Classic in Tucson, Arizona to open the season in the first week of March. The Blue and Grey completed the Spring Break trip west with a 6-0 mark in the Tucson Invitational to move back into the poll.

To finish off the Tucson Invitational, Moravian posted a 5-0 victory over the College of Saint Benedict (Minn.), which is 22nd in this week's poll, while two of the Greyhounds' three losses at the Leadoff Classic were to No. 1 Virginia Wesleyan University in extra innings and No. 14 the University of St. Thomas (Minn.).

The Hounds are scheduled to return to action in a Landmark Conference doubleheader versus Elizabethtown College on Thursday, April 12 beginning at 3:00 p.m. on Blue & Grey Field in Bethlehem.
