TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian College senior Amanda Carisone has been honored as the Landmark Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week for her performance last week.
Carisone tossed two shutouts in a 4-0 week for the No. 6 Greyhounds, who won three of four game by shutout this past week to improve to 25-3 on the year. Carisone allowed five hits and no walks while striking out nine batters in 11 innings. She tossed the first four innings with five strikeouts in a 9-0, five-winning win over Eastern University. Carisone then had four strikeouts in an 8-0 victory at The College of Staten Island on Saturday. She also added one putout and four assists in six chances in the field.
"Amanda had a great week with her approach and command," stated Head Coach John Byrne. She also had a good mix and location of pitches in her two outings."
Moravian is scheduled to return to action on Tuesday, April 24 in a non-conference doubleheader versus Stevens Institute of Technology beginning at 3:00 p.m. at Blue & Grey Field in Bethlehem.
