Why did you choose Moravian College?
I chose Moravian because it would give me the opportunity to become a competitive collegiate athlete while still challenging me in the classroom and preparing me for the professional workplace.  Once I set foot on campus, I fell in love with the history and character of Moravian College.

What is your major and why?
After traveling to El Salvador on a mission trip, I knew I wanted to be involved in a health-related field.  I had a desire to help people and better their lives.  I knew the sciences captured my interest, but I always gravitated toward biology.  I declared myself as a biology major during my sophomore year and am now pursuing a career in dentistry.

What has been your favorite course at Moravian and why?
My favorite course at Moravian was vertebrate anatomy.  I enjoyed learning about the material presented as it was directly applicable to my field of interest.

What are your plans for the future once you finish your degree at Moravian?
My plan is to enter dental school and pursue a career in the field of dentistry.

What is your most memorable moment as a Greyhound?
My most memorable moment as a Greyhound would be the first time I put on my jersey.  That’s when it finally became real: I was a college athlete.

How has being an athlete helped you as a student?
Being a collegiate athlete has taught me discipline and dedication not only on the field, but in the classroom and throughout life.  I have learned time management and communication skills that will be valuable as I enter the professional workplace.

What is the hardest part of your sport?
The hardest part of our sport is finding a balance between the mental and physical aspects of the game.  It is a game of failure, and you have to learn how to make adjustments and make them quickly.

Why do you wear your jersey number?
#15 is the number I wore throughout my high school and travel ball career.

Name one obstacle or form of adversity you have had to overcome.
I think being a student-athlete is an adversity in itself.  I’ve had to manage my time, communicate with both professors and coaches, and maintain positive relationships with my teammates.

Why is community service important to your role as a student-athlete at Moravian?
It very important to be visible and involved in the community.  I believe that a community helps to create who you are, your character, attitude, morals and values.  Giving back is just a small gesture of gratitude and creates the opportunity to leave an impact on someone else.

What advice do you have for a prospective Moravian College student-athlete?
Be willing to try new things.  Even when it seems like something is impossible, when there’s a will, there’s a way.  Although athletics are a major part of your life at Moravian College, it doesn’t have to be the only thing in which you are involved.
