McPherson Selected as Landmark Conference Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week

TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian College senior forward Camille McPherson was been selected as the Landmark Conference Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week for her performance last week.

McPherson helped the Greyhounds begin the season with a 3-0 mark as she averaged 23.7 points and 13.3 rebounds per game. She shot 24-of-48 from the floor, 4-of-13 beyond the three-point line and 19-of-20 at the foul line during the week, and McPherson also had 12 assists, one steal and one blocked shot while playing 99 minutes over the three games.

In the Greyhounds' season-opening win over nationally-ranked Muhlenberg College, McPherson had career highs of 30 points and 19 rebounds for her first career double-double. She then had 27 points and 12 rebounds in a 75-59 victory over Cabrini University. McPherson finished the week with 14 points and nine rebounds in a 96-58 win over Geneva College as she was named the Most Valuable Player of the Swarthmore College Tip-Off Tournament.

"Camille had an outstanding start to the season," stated 30th-year Head Coach Mary Beth Spirk. "Her work ethic and preparation in the offseason, in practice and out of practice is tremendous. Her dedication to performing at a high level will hopefully continue to pay off as we move further into the season."

Moravian is scheduled to begin its 2016-17 home season on Tuesday, November 22 in a non-conference game when the Greyhounds host DeSales University with tip-off set for 6:00 p.m. in Johnston Hall. The contest is slated to be aired live by TV-2 Sports.
