McPherson Named to D3hoops.com Team of the Week Presented by Scoutware

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. --- Moravian College senior forward Camille McPherson has been honored on the first D3hoops.com Team of the Week presented by Scoutware of the 2016-17 season after her performance over the first two weeks of the season.

McPherson has helped the Greyhounds begin the season with a 3-1 mark as she averaged 24.5 points and 11.5 rebounds per game. She shot 32-of-66 from the floor (48.5 percent), 9-of-18 beyond the three-point line and 25-of-26 at the foul line during the opening two weeks, and McPherson also had 14 assists, two steal and one blocked shots while playing 133 minutes over the four games.

In the Greyhounds' season-opening win over nationally-ranked Muhlenberg College, McPherson had career highs of 30 points and 19 rebounds for her first career double-double. She then had 27 points and 12 rebounds in a 75-59 victory over Cabrini University. McPherson finished the first week with 14 points and nine rebounds in a 96-58 win over Geneva College as she was named the Most Valuable Player of the Swarthmore College Tip-Off Tournament. She was also honored as the Landmark Conference Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week and the United States Basketball Writers Association NCAA Division III Women's Player of the Week.

In her only action last week, McPherson had 27 points, six rebounds and two assists in a 78-74 loss to DeSales University. She was a perfect 5-for-5 behind the three-point line and 6-of-6 at the foul line in the contest.

"Camille has had an amazing start to the season," stated 30th-year Head Coach Mary Beth Spirk. "She worked hard on her game during the offseason and that work ethic has continued into practice and on the game floor. She has dedicated herself to performing at a high level for the entire season."

Moravian is scheduled to return to action on Tuesday, November 29 in a non-conference game versus FDU-Florham tipping off at 7:00 p.m. in Johnston Hall.
