McPherson Honored Again as Landmark Conference Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week

TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian College senior forward Camille McPherson has been honored as the Landmark Conference Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week for the second time this season after her performance over the last seven days.

McPherson, who was also the Landmark Conference Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week on November 21, averaged 29.0 points and 9.3 rebounds per game in a 2-1 week for the Greyhounds while shooting 57.1 percent (28-for-49) from the floor, 61.5 percent (8-for-13) beyond the three-point line and 88.5 percent (23-of-26) at the foul line during the three games. McPherson scored a career-high 35 points to go with nine rebounds and a pair of steals in an 87-83 loss to FDU-Florham in non-conference action last Tuesday.

She had 18 points and 10 boards for her third double-double of the season in a 75-63 non-conference victory at Wilkes University last Thursday before McPherson finished the week with 34 points, nine rebounds and three assists in a 74-72 triumph over Elizabethtown College to begin the 2016-17 Landmark Conference season.

"Camille has worked extremely hard in the offseason and continues to work hard in and out of practice," commented Head Coach Mary Beth Spirk. "For her to achieve this award two times in the first three weeks of the season is a direct correlation to the time and effort she has put in to her game. Camille is leading this young team and hopefully will continue to lead us as we move into conference play."

Moravian is slated to return to action on Monday, December 5 in a non-conference game at The College of New Jersey tipping off at 6:00 p.m.
