BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College women's basketball team hosted a group of 57 boys and girls in 2nd through 8th grade at its 6th Annual Pink Zone Clinic in Johnston Hall on Thursday night as part of its Play 4Kay Week.
Head Coach Mary Beth Spirk, assistant coaches Danielle Brogan, Amy Endler, DeAnna Rayam and Alexis Wright along with members of both the Greyhounds' women's and men's squads taught the kids proper techniques for stretching, passing, defense, dribbling and shooting during the 90-minute clinic. The event ended with a couple of dribbling contests as well as some 3-on-3 games and relay races.
A donation was requested as entry into the clinic, with the proceeds benefitting Moravian's Play 4Kay Week and onto the Kay Yow Cancer Fund.

The 2017 Play 4Kay initiative is an opportunity for a nation of coaches to raise breast cancer awareness and funds for research on the court, across campuses, in communities and beyond. Since its inception in 2007, the Play 4Kay initiative has raised over $3 million to support women's cancer research. The Kay Yow Cancer Fund is the official charity of the initiative.
Over the last eight years, the Moravian has won the Play 4Kay contest at the NCAA Division III level each season. The contest is an effort to reward participating teams in the Play 4Kay who are also raising funds for the Kay Yow Cancer Fund®, in partnership with The V Foundation. The Greyhounds have raised a total of $93,491.
Moravian's Play 4Kay week began on Sunday, February 12 with the 6th Annual Pink Zone Clinic in Springfield, New Jersey, and the week will conclude on Saturday, February 18 when the Greyhounds host The Catholic University of America in a Landmark Conference game in Johnston Hall beginning at 2:00 p.m.
