McPherson Named to D3hoops.com Preseason All-America Third Team

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. --- Moravian College graduate student and small forward Camille McPherson has been selected to the D3hoops.com Women's Preseason All-America Third Team.

McPherson, who completed her undergraduate degree last May and is currently working towards a master's degree as she finishes her collegiate eligibility, was honored as a Women's DIII News Honorable Mention All-American after last season when she led the Greyhounds in scoring at 22.9 points per game with her 642 points ranking as the second most in school history in a single season. McPherson also led the Hounds on the boards at 8.6 rebounds per contest to go with a team high 59 three-pointers and eight double-doubles. She contributed 80 assists, 20 steals and 15 blocked shots, and McPherson shot 80.8 percent at the foul line (143-of-177), 47.5 percent from the floor (220-of-463) and 38.8 percent beyond the arc (59-of-152).

McPherson was also honored on the Landmark All-Conference First Team and the ECAC Division III Metro All-Star First Team last winter as well as the D3hoops.com All-Mid-Atlantic Region Second Team. McPherson was also selected as the Lehigh Valley Small College Women's Basketball Pete Nevins Player of the Year while earning a spot on the LVSCB Team of the Year, and she was the Lehigh Valley Association of Athletics for Women Outstanding Athlete for women's basketball and named Moravian's 2017 Outstanding Senior Female Athlete.

"To be mentioned as a preseason All-American is a great honor for Camille and our program," stated Head Coach Mary Beth Spirk, who is entering her 31st season leading the program. "Camille recognizes her opportunity to play another year is a bonus and she is ready to take full advantage of it."

McPherson enters her final season with 1,028 points in just 55 career games, and she has 386 rebounds, 118 assists, 33 steals and 20 blocked shots entering the 2017-18 campaign. McPherson and the rest of the Greyhounds are scheduled to begin the year on Wednesday, November 15 when the squad hosts rival Muhlenberg College in a non-conference game tipping off at 6:00 p.m. in Johnston Hall.
