TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian College sophomore guard Maddie Capuano has been named the Landmark Conference Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week for her performance last week.

Capuano recorded her first career double-double with 23 points and 10 rebounds to help the Greyhounds to their third straight victory with a 62-57 win at DeSales University last Tuesday in the squad's only game of the week with the Thanksgiving holiday. Capuano had 12 points in the first half as Moravian built a 34-21 advantage, and she added the Hounds' final nine points of the evening to seal the victory.

Capuano was 4-for-10 beyond the three-point line with her final three-pointer coming with 2:41 remaining after the Bulldogs had taken the lead for the first time. Capuano added a jumper with 1:51 to play to give the Blue and Grey the lead for good, and she was 7-of-8 at the foul line including a 4-for-4 performance in the final 27 seconds to finish the victory.

"Maddie has started off the season strong and especially had a terrific game against DeSales," stated Head Coach Mary Beth Spirk. "She continues to get better every day and will hopefully stay consistent all season. We are fortunate to have a player like Maddie on our team, as her drive to win and be successful is second to none."

Moravian, which is 3-1 on the season, is slated to return to action on Tuesday, November 28 in a non-conference game at FDU-Florham beginning at 7:00 p.m.
