Maddie Capuano '20 selected as Landmark Conference Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week.

TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian College sophomore guard Maddie Capuano has been selected as the Landmark Conference Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week for her performance last week.

Capuano, who earned her second Landmark Conference Athlete of the Week honor in three weeks, helped the Greyhounds to a 3-0 record last week as the squad heads into a 21-day layoff for the semester finals and holidays with an 8-2 record.

In the three games last week, Capuano averaged 14.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 3.3 rebounds and 2.7 steals per game while playing 87 of 120 minutes during the trio of contests. Capuano netted 22 points to go with four rebounds, three assists and a pair of steals in a 79-71 victory over The College of New Jersey last Monday, and she had 10 points and 10 assists for her second career double-double to go with three rebounds and three steals in an 87-55 win versus Immaculata University. Capuano finished the week with 10 points, five assists, three rebounds and three steals in a 65-56 triumph over Albright College.

"Maddie put together three very good games this week. This is a well-deserved honor to achieve," noted Head Coach Mary Beth Spirk. "She has had to adjust a bit this season with playing point and some two guard, but has accepted her role quite well. Maddie will continue to get better and better as the season moves forward. Though just a sophomore, Maddie is a leader on this team, on and off the court. She will continue to get better and better in all phases of the game."

Moravian is scheduled to return to action on Saturday, December 30 when the squad hosts Allegheny College in the opening day of action in the Roosevelt's 21st Greyhound Classic.
