Greyhound Women Fall at TCNJ in Non-Conference Action

EWING, N.J. --- The Moravian College women's basketball team fell at The College of New Jersey, 80-56, in non-conference action Monday evening.

The Greyhounds, now 6-2 this season, had two players in double figures with junior guard Maddie Capuano netting 19 points to go with three rebounds while junior forward Nadine Ewald added 10 points and four boards. Senior forward Ariana Caiati contributed six points and a team-high six rebounds while senior guard Tyis Mullen and sophomore forward Raquel Lopez de Boer each had five points with Mullen dishing out two assists and Lopez de Boer contributing two rebounds and a pair of steals.

Sophomore guard Jennifer McClave had four points and three rebounds for the Hounds while junior guard Karlie Brogan added three points and two boards. Freshman guards Alix Buskirk and Hannah Fenstermacher each had two points while sophomore guard Sarah Donati dished out two assists.

Moravian connected on 22-of-62 field goal attempts including 12-of-26 in the first half, and the Blue and Grey were 6-for-21 on three-pointers and 6-of-7 at the foul line while forcing the Lions into 15 turnovers.

TCNJ opened the scoring with a three-pointer before back-to-back lay-ups from Ewald had the Greyhounds leading 4-3 just 1:08 into the contest. That would be the only lead of the contest for the Hounds as the Lions scored five straight. Capuano pulled the Blue and Grey within a point with a three-pointer at 8-7, and Brogan made it a one-point game, 14-13, on a three-pointer with 4:18 left in the first quarter. Moravian trailed 22-19 after 10 minutes on action as McClave scored late in the quarter.

The Lions slowly pulled away in the second quarter and headed to the locker room with a 45-31 halftime advantage, and TCNJ led 65-40 after three quarters.

Moravian is scheduled to return to action on Saturday, December 8 in a non-conference game versus Gwynedd Mercy University tipping off at 2:00 p.m. in Johnston Hall.
