Ewald Earns Second Straight Landmark Conference Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week Honor

Junior Nadine Ewald Named Landmark Conference Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week

TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian College junior forward Nadine Ewald has been named the Landmark Conference Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week for the second consecutive week.

Ewald averaged 15.0 points and 7.0 rebounds per game in a 1-1 week for the Greyhounds while shooting 15-of-29 from the floor and adding eight assists, four blocked shots and two steals. Ewald had 10 point, four boards and four assists in an 80-65 loss at The College of New Jersey before she recorded her third double-double of the season and 15th of her career with 20 points and 10 rebounds to go with four assists, four blocked shots and two steals in a 72-65 win over Gwynedd Mercy University.

"Nadine had another solid week on the court for us," said Head Coach Mary Beth Spirk. "She continues to play at a high level on both offense and defense. We knew Nadine had to score for us. She has developed her game around the basket and also worked on her 12 to 15 ft. range. The difference in her game this season so far has been her defensive energy as well as her leadership on and off the court. Hopefully Nadine will continue playing at a high level."

Moravian, which is 7-2 overall, is slated to close out the first semester of action on Saturday, December 15 when the squad heads to Allentown to play rival Muhlenberg College in a non-conference contest tipping off at 2:00 p.m. in Memorial Hall.
