Women's Lacrosse Drops Landmark Conference Match to Nationally-Ranked Catholic

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College women's lacrosse team dropped an 18-4 decision to No. 14 The Catholic University of America in Landmark Conference action at John Makuvek Field Saturday afternoon.

Sophomore midfielder Jillian Picciuto and sophomore attack Dalia Aguilar each scored two goals for the Greyhounds, who are now 6-7 overall on the year after their final home match of the 2017 season.

Sophomore goalie Kelley Gavin made eight saves in the contest for the Hounds while freshman defender Allie Fisher had five ground balls and four caused turnovers. Picciuto added draw controls while freshman midfielder Allie Brembt has three ground balls.

Catholic led 12-0 at halftime, and Moravian would get onto the scoreboard with 23:30 left in the match when Picciuto netted her 50th goal of the season. Aguilar scored on a pair of free position goals while Picciuto scored again with just over five minutes remaining.

Moravian is scheduled to return action on Wednesday, April 26 in the team's final non-conference match of the season as the Greyhounds head to Neumann University for a 4:00 p.m. contest.
