Gavin Selected as Landmark Conference Women's Lacrosse Defensive Athlete of the Week

Kelly Gavin '19 selected as Landmark Conference Women's Lacrosse Defensive Athlete of the Week.

TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian College junior goalie Kelley Gavin has been selected as the Landmark Conference Women's Lacrosse Defensive Athlete of the Week for her performance last week.

Gavin helped Moravian, which is 2-1 on the season, to a 17-12 win over Misericordia University in Clearwater, Florida during Spring Break. Gavin recorded 11 saves, allowed nine goals and had a pair of ground balls in 57 minutes of action in the victory.

"I'm thrilled to see Kelley receiving conference recognition after such an impressive performance against a strong competitor over spring break," stated Head Coach Kristen Nicholson. "She's constantly raising the bar and holds herself to an extremely high standard. We expect great things from Kelley this year."

The Hounds are scheduled to begin their 2018 home season on Tuesday, March 13 when the squad hosts Southern Vermont College in non-conference action on John Makuvek Field beginning at 5:00 p.m.
