Moravian Heading to Scranton for First-Ever Landmark Conference Semifinal Match on May 2

Women's lacrosse heading to The University of Scranton on Wednesday, May 2 for Landmark Conference Semifinal at 7:00 p.m.

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College women's lacrosse team has earned the third seed in the 2018 Landmark Conference Tournament, and the Greyhounds will travel to second seed The University of Scranton for a Semifinal match on Wednesday, May 2 beginning at 7:00 p.m. at Fitzpatrick Field in Scranton.

Moravian, which is 11-4 overall and completed the Landmark Conference regular season with a 5-2 slate, fell to the Royals, 18-9, on John Makuvek Field on April 7 when the squads met in the regular season. The Greyhounds, who have a school record for wins this spring, are heading to the Landmark Conference Tournament for the first time in program history and the postseason for just the second time after making the ECAC Division III Tournament last year.

Sophomore midfielder Liz Bill leads the Greyhounds in scoring with a school-record 70 goals, 18 assists, 33 ground balls, 23 caused turnovers and 11 draw controls while junior attack Jillian Picciuto has added 48 goals and 32 assists to go with 65 draw controls and 18 ground balls. Freshman midfielder Meaghan McMullan has contributed 45 goals, five assists, a school-record 93 draw controls, 29 caused turnovers and 32 ground balls while freshman attack Danielle Sullivan has added 18 goals, 16 assists and 10 ground balls. Freshman midfielder Olivia Clearie has 17 goals, two assists, 28 ground balls, 23 draw controls and 18 caused turnovers while sophomore midfielder Allie Fisher has added 14 goals, three assists, 42 ground balls, 37 draw controls and 20 caused turnovers.

Freshman attack Breanna Federico has six goals and 10 assists while junior attack Jessica Pisano has netted seven goals. Senior attack Kyleigh McGovern has added eight goals, four assists and 11 ground balls while junior attack Dalia Aguilar has three goals and two assists. Sophomore defender Allie Brembt has netted two goals with 14 ground balls while senior midfielder Alexis Kersten also has two goals to go with 20 caused turnovers and 21 ground balls. Senior defender Kristen Baxter has added one goal and nine ground balls.

Junior goalie Kelley Gavin has a 10-4 record with a 10.56 goals-against average, 90 saves and 22 ground balls in 693 minutes of action. Freshman goalie Courtney Heist has five stops in 137 minutes of action while senior goalie Elisabeth Pontius has six saves in 70 minutes this spring. Junior defender Melissa Webber has 26 ground balls and 12 caused turnovers while freshman midfielder Maecy Chlebowski as added 14 ground balls and junior defender Jacqueline LaCava has five ground balls.

The winner of Wednesday's Semifinal will advance to the 2018 Landmark Conference Championship game to face the winner of the other match Wednesday between top seed The Catholic University of America and fourth seed Drew University. The championship contest is slated for Saturday, May 5 with the winner of that match receiving an automatic berth to the 2018 NCAA Division III National Championship Tournament.
