Schall Honored as Landmark Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week

TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian College senior midfielder/forward Kirsten Schall has been honored as this week's Landmark Conference Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week after her performance last week.

Schall led the Greyhounds to a 2-0 record over the last seven days with 5-1 victories at Neumann University and Centenary College. Schall netted hat tricks in both contests for a total of six goals during the week.

"Kirsten's hard work during training and matches has her currently playing at a high level," stated first-year Head Coach Jeff Ykoruk. "She continues to improve each time out and has settled into her role within the system very well."

At Neumann last Wednesday night, Schall gave the Greyhounds a 2-0 lead in the 29th minute when she tallied her first goal of the match. She added scores in the 47th and 60th minutes to complete the first hat trick of her career. It was the 16th hat trick in school history, and the first for the program since Arielle Caldas '12 had a hat trick versus Drew University in 2009.

Schall would duplicate her three goal performance three days later at Centenary. She opened the scoring with a goal in the 13th minute against the Cyclones, and she added second half goals in the 66th and 68th minutes, the first coming as she dropped a free kick from just beyond the top of the circle into the goal.

The six-goal week gives Schall a career total of 26 goals, moving her into fifth place in school history, and she is also tied for fifth in career points with 69. While she didn't have an assist last week, Schall is tied for fourth in the Moravian record books with 17 career assists.

The Hounds are scheduled to return to action on Thursday, September 18 when the squad hosts Bryn Mawr College on the HUB Quad at 4:00 p.m.
