Schall Garners Corvais ECAC Player of the Week Honors

DANBURY, Conn. --- Senior midfielder/forward Kirsten Schall of the Moravian College women's soccer team has been selected as the Corvais ECAC Division III South Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for her performance last week.

Schall paced the Greyhounds to a 2-0 record last week as she scored hat tricks in both contests.

Schall would give the Greyhounds a 2-0 lead in the 29th minute at Neumann University last Wednesday when she scored her first goal of the match. She added tallies in the second half during the 47th and 60th minutes to finish off the first hat trick of her career. It was the 16th hat trick in school history, and the first for the program since Arielle Caldas '12 had a hat trick versus Drew University on September 25, 2009.

Schall would duplicate her three goal performance three days later at Centenary, becoming just the second player in school history with two consecutive hat tricks, joining Caldas who accomplished the feat on September 23 and 25, 2009. Schall began the scoring at Centenary with a goal in the 13th minute last Saturday, and she added second half goals in the 66th and 68th minutes.

Schall now has a career total of 26 goals to move into fifth place in school history, and she is also tied for fifth in career points with 69. Schall is tied currently for fourth with 17 career assists.

The Greyhounds are slated to return to action on Thursday, September 18 when the Hounds welcome Bryn Mawr College to the HUB Quad for a non-conference match beginning at 4:00 p.m.
