READING, Pa. --- The Moravian College women's soccer team dropped a 3-0 non-conference match at Penn State Berks Wednesday evening.

The Nittany Lions opened the scoring in the 10th minute on their fourth shot of the match. The Greyhounds tried to counter quickly with senior forward Kirsten Schall putting a shot on goal in the 11th minute. The Greyhounds added shots in the 24th minute by junior midfielder Brittany Nicoline and junior midfielder Taylor Blake and another shot from Schall in the 27th minute.

The Lions extended the lead to 2-0 in the 30th minute. The Greyhounds would continue to put the pressure on with sophomore defender Christine Miklas getting a shot on goal in the 34th minute while sophomore forward Melissa Walko hit the post just 24 seconds before halftime and Schall's follow-up shot was saved.

Schall, who connected on eight of Moravian's 16 shots in the match, had three shots early in the second half that missed the goal, and Walko put one on goal in the 56th minute that had to be saved before the Lions scored the final goal in the 80th minute.

Moravian junior goalie Jacqueline Zalis made eight saves in the match including stopping a penalty kick in the 86th minute.

The Greyhounds will return to action on Saturday, October 11 in a Landmark Conference match at Juniata College beginning at 3:30 p.m.
