Hounds Fall at Elizabethtown in Final Night Match of 2015

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- The Moravian College women's soccer team played its final night match of the 2015 season, falling at Elizabethtown College, 3-1, in Landmark Conference action Wednesday evening.

The Blue Jays took an early lead in the 12th minute. Junior forward Valentina Margiottiello nearly tied the match in the 27th minute as she drilled a shot on goal that needed to be saved. Elizabethtown added a second goal before halftime and a third tally just over three minutes into the second half.

Moravian senior midfielder Taylor Blake had a shot blocked five minutes into the second half of action, and she put another shot on goal in the 76th minute. The Hounds broke onto the scoreboard in the 86th minute when sophomore midfielder Emily Crowley found the back of the net for her second goal of the season. Senior midfielder Brittany Nicoline started the play by crossing the ball, and after it was misplayed by Elizabethtown, Crowley was there to put it into an open net.

Greyhound senior goalie Jacqueline Zalis added four saves in the match.

Moravian is slated to return to action in another Landmark Conference match on Saturday, October 17 at Susquehanna University beginning at 3:30 p.m.
