Women's Soccer Earns Win over Stockton at Drew Fall Fesitval

MADISON, N.J. --- The Moravian College women's soccer team won its second straight match with a 2-1 victory over Stockton University Saturday on the opening day of the Drew University Fall Festival.

The Greyhounds jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the 23rd minute when senior forward Valentina Margiottiello took a lead pass from sophomore forward Gabby Stelzmiller and fired it into the net for her third goal of the season.

The Ospreys tied the match in the 47th minute. The teams moved up and down the field until the Greyhounds got the go ahead goal in the 86th minute. Freshman midfielder Juliana Caranci came down on a two-on-one against the Stockton goalie and her through ball ended up being played into the net for an own goal.

Moravian junior goalie Jessica Lawton earned the victory for the Hounds with four saves in the contest.

The Greyhounds are scheduled to return to action on Sunday, September 11 in the second day of the Drew Fall Festival with the Blue and Grey playing Rutgers-Camden at 2:00 p.m.
