TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian College junior goalie Jessica Lawton has been selected the Landmark Conference Women's Soccer Defensive Athlete of the Week for her performance last week.

Lawton, who earned her second Landmark Conference Defensive Athlete of the Week honor of the season, posted a 2-0 record in conference action with a 1.00 goals-against average and 18 saves. She had four saves as the Greyhounds defeated Elizabethtown College, 2-1, last Wednesday. Lawton then had a career-high 14 saves to help Moravian earn a 2-1 victory over regionally-ranked the Catholic University of America on Saturday.

"Jess had an amazing week in goal," commented Head Coach Jeff Ykoruk. "She kept us in both games and has been working so hard with coach Ashley at training. It's good to see her hard work pay off and the team has a lot of confidence playing in front of her because of this."

Moravian is slated to return to action on Tuesday, October 18 in a Landmark Conference match at Drew University beginning at 7:30 p.m.
