BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College freshman forward Lauren Haley knocked in a loose ball 2:30 into overtime to give the Greyhounds a 1-0 overtime victory over rival Muhlenberg College on a damp John Makuvek Field Wednesday evening.

"The girls really played well tonight, and I am very happy for all of them especially our senior class," stated Head Coach Jeff Ykoruk, who defeated the rival Mules for the first time as Moravian's head coach and the first win by the senior class over Muhlenberg. "Our group battled every minute of the game in a very spirited match and our pressure was relentless."

The Hounds, now 4-0-1 on the year, extended their shutout string to 472:30 as the squad posted its fifth straight clean sheet to begin the season. Senior Jessica Lawton started and made two saves in the first half while sophomore Jamie Daly stopped three shots in the final 47:30 for her second win of the year.

Moravian finished the match with a 15-7 edge in shots and an 11-0 advantage in corner kicks. It was on the 11th corner kick of the night that the Blue and Grey were finally able to find the back of the net. Junior forward Gabby Stelzmiller drove the corner kick into the box where freshman midfielder Caitlyn Sugarman took the initial shot that was saved. Sophomore defender Paige Weiss followed up with another shot that was stopped by the Muhlenberg keeper before Haley netted her first collegiate goal by knocking the ball into the right side of the net.

"I was excited for Lauren Haley to get her first career goal as an overtime winner," Ykoruk said. "We created a lot of corners again and felt on a lot of them we had a chance to put them away. Our players and staff are also very happy to contribute a point to our athletic department to help win the Matte Award."

Moravian is scheduled to return to action on Saturday, September 16 in a non-conference match at the College of Mount Saint Vincent beginning at 12:00 p.m.
