COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. --- The Moravian College women's soccer squad battled host Ursinus College in a hard-fought non-conference match, eventually falling by a 1-0 score Wednesday evening.

The Hounds had the initial shot of the game with senior forward Emily Crowley hitting a ball that sailed high of the crossbar in the 15th minute. Junior midfielder Shae Duka took a long shot towards the left side of the goal in the 20th minute that was stopped by the Bears' keeper. Neither squad was able to find the back of the net in the opening 45 minutes for a 0-0 halftime score.

Sophomore midfielder Juliana Caranci took a shot that was just high 1:55 into the second half, while Ursinus would get on the scoreboard in the 55th minute off of a corner kick. Just over seven minutes later, freshman defender Sara Cassel took a long shot off of a free kick that hit the crossbar, and two minutes after that Cassel hit a post on another long free kick.

Senior goalie Jessica Lawton made the start for the Greyhounds and played the first 45 minutes of the contest. Freshman Siobhan O'Sullivan-Evangelista entered for the second half.

The Greyhounds are scheduled to return to the pitch on Saturday, October 21 when the squad hosts Juniata College in a Landmark Conference match beginning at 1:00 p.m. as the Blue and Grey will honor their seniors before the contest.
