Bertucci Named to CoSIDA Academic All-District Team

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Moravian College senior defender Lauren Bertucci has been named to the 2017 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District Women's Soccer Team for NCAA Division III schools in District IV.

To be eligible for CoSIDA Academic All-America® honors, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.30 grade-point average, be a sophomore, junior or senior and be a starter or significant reserve. District IV in NCAA Division III is made up of schools from Pennsylvania. Moravian has had 46 Greyhounds named CoSIDA Academic All-Americans®.

By making the All-District First Team, Bertucci is now forwarded onto the national ballot to try for CoSIDA Academic All-America® accolades, which will be announced on Tuesday, December 5. There are a total of three student-athletes from the Landmark Conference on Academic All-District Teams.

Earlier Thursday, Bertucci was named the 2017 Landmark Conference Defensive Player of the Year and she also earned a spot on the Landmark All-Conference Team for the fourth consecutive fall. Bertucci has made the First Team the last two seasons after being on the Second Team as a freshman and sophomore. Bertucci scored one goal in 2017 which was a game-winner, and she finished her career with three goals and an assist for seven points in 63 career matches including a pair of game-winning goals.

"We are very proud of Lauren for upholding a 3.99 GPA while playing a competitive sport at Moravian" commented Head Coach Jeff Ykoruk. "Her passion and intensity on the soccer field translates to her work in the classroom. She is a very driven student athlete who will have much success in the future with her outstanding work ethic."

Bertucci is majoring in business management at Moravian.

The Greyhounds finished the 2017 season with a 9-6-1 overall record and the squad was 3-4 in Landmark Conference matches. The Hounds allowed just six goals this fall, the fewest in program history, with six 1-0 losses including two in overtime.
