Greyhounds Shut Out Bryn Mawr on the Road

BRYN MAWR, Pa. --- The Moravian College women's soccer squad earned its first win of the 2018 season by posting a 2-0 shutout victory at Bryn Mawr College in non-conference action Sunday afternoon.

The Greyhounds, now 1-1 on the year, controlled the play throughout the first half, eventually taking a 1-0 lead in the 30th minute when senior midfielder Aimee Manley carried the ball down the middle of the field and fired a shot from just inside the box into the net for her first goal of the season and second of her career.

Moravian would extend its lead to 2-0 in the 73rd minute when sophomore midfielder Caitlyn Sugarman scored her first marker of the season and second of her career as she carried the ball after a throw in and chipped a shot past the goalie from inside the left side of the box.

Sophomore Siobhan O'Sullivan-Evangelista played the first half in goal for the Blue and Grey while junior Jamie Daly was in goal for the final 45 minutes and made one save. The Hounds finished the contest with a 17-2 advantage in shots and a 9-1 edge in corner kicks.

Moravian is scheduled to return to action on Wednesday, September 5 in a non-conference contest at Stockton (N.J.) University beginning at 7:00 p.m.
