BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University women's soccer team posted a 2-1 victory over visiting Juniata College in Landmark Conference action on John Makuvek Field Saturday in the Hounds' final home match of the 2023 regular season and Senior Day.
How It Happened
- The Hounds took a 1-0 lead in the 37th minute as junior midfielder Anika Buzzy headed in a corner kick by junior forward Carly Pyatt as Buzzy found an opening on the right side of the net
- Moravian doubled the advantage to 2-0 in the 75th minute as junior midfielder Chelsea Meltzer received a pass from junior defender Hailey Scaff, and then turned and rifled a shot into the right corner of the net
- The Eagles pulled within a goal in the 87th minute
Inside the Numbers
- Buzzy netted her first goal of the season and second of her career while Pyatt registered the first assist of her career
- Meltzer tallied her second marker of 2023 and the third of her career while Scaff recorded her first assist of the year and second of her career
- Senior goalie Payce Korpics played the first 45 minutes of the contest while senior goalie Paige Harrison made one save in the second half
- The Blue & Grey had a 21-5 advantage in shots and a 12-1 edge in corner kicks
- Prior to the contest, the Greyhounds honored their 11 seniors – Harrison, Korpics, Amanda Aloia, Danielle Bishop, Olivia Buckley, Megan Colton, Felicia Gall, Lauren Latchford, Kiara Morales, Lindsay Mullin and Alexa Vail
