Moravian Women Drop First Home Meet to Immaculata

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University women's swimming squad hosted their first-ever home swim meet in program history at Liberty High School on Friday evening, falling 119-54 to non-conference opponent Immaculata University.

How It Happened

  • Junior Jaelyn Mitchell posted a time of 2:18.34 in the 200-yard freestyle for second place in her first event of the night. Mitchell followed that up by swimming a 1:10.43 in the 100-yard butterfly for another second-place finish.
  • Freshman Catie Lovett earned a first-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle in a PR time of 26.73 seconds, then she recorded another first-place finish with a time of 59.46 in the 100-yard freestyle.
  • Junior Sydney Steere recorded a PR time of 30.78 seconds in the 50-yard freestyle in her first session and then recorded a PR time of 1:21.00 in the 100-yard backstroke to finish in third place
  • Junior Marissa Werner placed second in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 28.30, followed by a first-place finish in the 100-yard backstroke by 0.23 seconds for a PR
  • The quartet of Lovett, Steere, Mitchell and Werner concluded the night by winning the 200-yard freestyle medley, finishing with a PR of 1:54.80
  • Moravian totaled 54 points in the dual meet
