Bethlehem, Pa. --- The Moravian College women's tennis team defeated Arcadia University 8-1 Saturday afternoon in the team's 2015-16 season opener.
The Hounds were up 3-0 after doubles had finished up. Getting off the courts first was the third doubles team of freshman Emily Reiter and junior Roberta Scantlebury, who dominated their opponents by winning 8-0. Next to finish was the first doubles team of sophomore Skylar Oliwa and freshman Kate Rennar, defeating their opponents 8-4. Rounding out doubles was the second team of sophomore Caitlin Adams and senior Courtnie Lambert with an 8-5 win.
In singles, junior Brittney Eady won in straight sets defeating her first singles opponent 6-0, 6-0. Finishing next was Lambert winning 6-2, 6-0 at third singles and clinching the match for the Greyhounds.
Also winning for Moravian in straight sets was Oliwa 6-1, 6-3 at second singles, Adams 6-0, 6-1 at fourth singles and Rennar 6-2, 6-3 at sixth singles.
Next match for the Greyhounds is the ITA Southeast Tournament on Saturday and Sunday the 26-27 of September.
