Women's Tennis Leads Early Before Dropping Landmark Match to Elizabethtown

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College women's tennis team jumped out to a lead in doubles action before dropping a 6-3 decision to Elizabethtown College in a Landmark Conference match at Hoffman Courts Saturday.

The Greyhounds had a 2-1 lead after doubles play. After falling behind 1-0, the duo of senior Courtnie Lambert and sophomore Caitlin Adams earned an 8-4 win at third doubles to even the score. Junior Brittney Eady and sophomore Skylar Oliwa then posted an 8-4 victory at first doubles for the lead.

The Blue Jays won the first singles match off of the courts to tie the match again before Eady earned a 6-2, 6-0 triumph at first singles as Moravian moved back ahead 3-2. Elizabethtown won the final four singles matches to clinch the team victory but not before Greyhound junior Aisling Doyle forced a third set in her fifth singles contest.

Moravian is scheduled to return to action on Sunday, April 24 in a Landmark Conference match versus The Catholic University of America beginning at 1:00 p.m. at Hoffman Courts.
