Greyhounds Open 2016-17 with Sweep at Arcadia

GLENSIDE, Pa. --- The Moravian College women's tennis team swept Arcadia University, 9-0, Saturday afternoon in non-conference action to begin the 2016-17 season.

The Greyhounds opened up a 3-0 lead in doubles action. Seniors Brittney Eady and Roberta Scantlebury posted an 8-4 win at first doubles as Eady moves into a tie for 10th with 37 career wins in doubles action while freshmen Lauren Steinert and Eiman Nazif had an 8-3 victory at second doubles. Junior Caitlin Adams and senior Aisling Doyle finished off the sweep with an 8-1 win at third doubles.

Moravian won all six singles matches in straight sets. Eady had a 6-0, 6-0 victory at first singles while Nazif won 6-4, 6-2 at second singles. Steinert had a 6-2, 6-3 triumph at third singles while sophomore Kate Rennar posted a 6-1, 7-5 victory at fourth singles. Freshman Courtney Kunzman won 6-0, 6-0 at fifth singles while freshman Emily Snyder capped the win with a 6-1, 6-1 win at sixth singles.

 The Greyhounds are scheduled to return to action on Tuesday, September 20 in a non-conference match versus DeSales University beginning at 4:00 p.m. at Hoffman Courts in Bethlehem.
